Hi! I’m Sofia “Fia” Donaldson, a multidisciplinary designer based in New York City pursuing an AAS in Fashion Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology after completing my BBA in Strategic Design and Management at Parsons School of Design.

After graduating in 2024, I spent my time as a graphic designer for Fora Travel, where I led the pitching and design of digital visual projects while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, external agencies, and traveling photographers to produce original content. I helped strategize and execute Meta advertising campaigns by developing concepts, generating copy ideas, creating campaign decks and schedules, and aligning with the creative director on direction and rollout. At Fora, I strengthened my technical design foundation and deepened my understanding of how design functions both creatively and strategically.

My first love has always been storytelling. As humans, we have always turned to narrative to make sense of our existence, and that belief sits at the center of everything I create. Whether through digital media, illustration, or fashion design, my work explores how form and symbolism can communicate emotion and history. I have worked to cultivate a wide range of skills, including pattern making, technical sewing, illustration, tech pack development, and graphic design, approaching each discipline as another language for storytelling.

I am deeply inspired by women’s work and the artistry that has long been undervalued within it. My deep admiration for this began with my grandmother, one of seven children who were each taught a different trade. Her craft was weaving wool knits, a practice that requires patience, precision, and grace. Through my work, I honor her and the generations of women whose skill and dedication built the foundation of so much of what we now call art and fashion. Their resilience and creativity shape my own commitment to detail, craftsmanship, and most importantly the telling of women’s stories.
